Here's another thing to consider. Simon is getting visions of Saint
Lynch from time-to-time. Ronan Lynch only appears to those whose death
has already been set due tot he deliberate plotting of the Reckoners.
Not only that, but Baphomet isn't your garden-variety manitou. I would
say that he is higher up in the hierarchy of Hell and can possess a
person without them knowing it. I believe he was directly called a
demon, rather than a manitou.

But, that's just my opinion, and I talk a lot....
