Well, actually, I figure that's kind of the attitude that Templars have in
general towards the rest of any party they join. :)

But sure and all, by definition most "heroic" groups are worthy, since they
put their lives on the line to help others. I don't even want to get into
trying to fit a Templar into an "evil" (or at least self-centered) bunch of
PCs. Don't bother, I'd say.

The question conerning that I have is, short of Laying on Hands on his
buddies and nothing else, how does a Templar do that without assisting the
unworthy, against relatively minor (by Fearmonger standards - I'm talking
Black Hat attacks, marauders, Trog sieges, etc.)) threats?

That's where the bypassing of the Templar responsibilities comes in. If a
Templar can rationalize helping out "unworthy" types by saying, "Well, I
wasn't helping them - I just killed ten of the 50 Black Hats attacking the
town because my comrades needed the help, even though the unworthy benefited
as a result" there really isn't much "oath" or responsibility to worry about
here.

Maybe I'm totally misreading the personality asserted by Jo in her two
narratives to date, but do you think if she heard about a Templar doing that
kind of thing, she wouldn't have a few...choice words to say to him?
