And then...?  Apparently folks feel that Simon (described as harsh and 
fanatical throughout the source material, but setting that aside...) will 
make exceptions for most non-abusive "bad calls" (as long as the Templar in 
question was truthful about it, of course).  Apparently a Templar that is 
_more_ heroic, and less selfish (like most PC groups I've been talking 
about), will just get pooh-poohed and sent on his way.

Quite frankly, the "once a year" thing is more a pain in the ass than 
anything.  Almost as bad as the Librarian requirement.  For someone who 
wanted to set his campaign further East in MN, IA, MO and LA (just to avoid 
some of the "Pinnacle has everything laid out towards the West" syndrome), 
it can be a hassle.

Of course, as I noted when I first joined the list, I kinda like the idea of 
"waystations" for both of those organizations, and some kind of secondary HQ 
for each east of the Rockies and west of the Mississippi.  This makes more 
sense for the Librarians, but hey, if Simon is the lenient, exception-making 
type that some folks are painting him as, he shouldn't have a problem with 
that.  If he wants the Templars to find and protect the "worthy" of the 
whole Wasted West, having a non-centrally located base seems like a so-so 
idea anyway...
