RE: [HoE] Jack-knife
Hola,
Coming from the trucking industry I'll try to answer the best I can. The
biggest factor is how fast the truck is going? If you are going slow 25mph
or less, not much other then being a little stuck, i.e. jack knifed. If you
are going from 25 to 45 mph may cause some minor damage to tires, rims and
suspension. Anything over that will probably cause the truck to flip. Also
another factor is how much load it is carrying. If the truck is empty you
can add 10mph to each that I listed, if it's got a full load I would
subtract 5mph, it's going to tip a lot easier. Once a truck starts to jack
knife, it doesn't matter how good the driver is, it's going to jack
knife....
Hope this helps...

Subject: [HoE] Jack-knife
Well if there's anyone out there: hello
Coming from the regular Deadlands list this is a real graveyard.
Anyway, if anyone else is on this list, I was wondering if you knew what
happens
to a tractor-trailor combo if it jack-knifes? Would it cause damage to
itself,
fly out of controll, or just wrench to a jolting halt?
If anyone has any ideas I'd be gratefull
