[HoE] Cyborgs/Junkers
<<This is for all those guys that have the Cyborgs book all ready. I have been
wondering since I saw the pic of the cybernetic tech spirt in the junkers
book. Can junkers work on or build cybernetic orginisms. I had hoped that
Junkman Cometh would address this but it did not and I had hoped that
Cyborgs would pic up the ball. Thanks in advance for any info.>>
Yes, there are rules for having Junker-built cyber-devices. The Cyborg
equipment runs simliarly to junker machines, being manitou-powered. Therefore,
not only can junkers make implants, but cyborgs can run other junker devices off
of their excess juice, if any.
One thing to remember is that junker devices are often too big to stick into a
cyborg. It's recommended that a junker who builds implants know Miniaturize to
save space. Also, the junker would need to have a high Science: Cybertech skill
to actually implant stuff. As far as I'm concerned, Cybertech can be related to
Occult Engineering, since they operate in similar fashion.
I'm working on a cyborg-junker character right now. The idea isn't as
munchkinish as it sounds, since he'd have big problems putting devices into
himself, and is Unschooled (having been a cyborg tech before the War, he picked
up junking on his own, after studying his own systems), so he can't have
Miniaturize. The main advantage is that he can be a power source for his own
devices, and might not have to lug a g-ray collector and spirit batteries around
all the time.
