[HoE] A question on Bionics

Hi, all:

I've got a question I'm hoping someone can give me a good opinion on. A
player is rejoining my gaming group, and his character is a gunslinger
transported from the Weird West to the Wasted West. He's thinking about
going to Junkyard and getting a bionic leg to replace his weird science
prosthetic, since he's tired of all the ghost rock he has to feed the thing
to operate.

Now here's my question. Since mad scientists are no more, and junkers
possessing their own unique science, how hard would it be for a junker or a
group of normal doctors with knowledge in bionics to take off that ghost
rock-powered leg and replace it with a normal science bionic one? I
imagine the blend of science and magic that makes up the ghost rock-powered
leg and the way it interacts with the body (following signals from the
brain, the way it interconnects with the flesh, etc.) would cause problems
for someone in the 21st century trying to take it off and replace it with a
bionic one. Any ideas?
