     Hey, Eric, you might want to reread the original
post. It sounded to me like he was writing for a
school assignment - not the media.

     On the flip side, gang, Eric has a point.
Publicity for gaming is almost always negative. With
the exception of the local Ren Faire (which buys
advertising space), I've never seen a news report of
article that was complementary of gaming. The local TV
stations have carried reports about LARPs in the area
that almost always make the people involved look like
imbiciles. (The ones I've seen covered are Vampire
LARPs and the SCA in general.)
     Honestly, the coverage has been so bad that the
Live Action coordinators that I've spoken with in the
Phoenix area have stated outright that the news media
is not welcome to cover their games. One game had
their permission to play at a location because the
reporter doing a story on them stood up the corporate
representative from the mall.
