I think it's also a main stream sorta thing. Way back before D&D and
tolkien, sci-fi was the only thing out there. When videogames first
started coming out they were all sci-fi for the most part. Now D&D's been
around for a long time and fantasy type stuff is becoming more and more
main stream (with shows like Buffy and Charmed and even things like
X-files). So now that fantasy is more mainstream there are a lot more
games out for it and hence the quality has to go up to beat out the
competition. Deadlands is still pretty "fringe" as far as games go, so it
doesn't appeal to a wide enough group that to warrant the expensive of
putting out really good PC games for it. If it ever does become more
mainstream then things might change. But I think as long as Pinnacle
doesn't over-extend itself and remains loyal to its fans they won't lose a
huge chuck to the PC market. Of course the other problem is that they
might not gain many new people either...
Oh yeah, superhero stuff is in there too. Wasn't into that thing until
recently so don't know if it fits the mold. Maybe I'm full of it...
