[HOE] Ideas
First of all, Mr. Cone, I want to be in YOUR campaign, you joyfully twisted
sod!
1) Mutant Surf Punks!
The wasters are out in the Maze, and they are accosted by a... Surf by
shooting! That's right, vile mutants, puss filled sores, glow in the dark
Bermudas and surfin the MAze, they buzz by, letting loose harpoons and
laughing histerically. The party takes cover, or they kill the surfers, but
there is a menace....
A Sludge Shaman known only as "The Big Kahuna" has melded his energies
and tamed the bloodwave. And now his pack scour the MAze and the coasts for
sources of power. If the party hunts them down, in a battle in which their
transportation is destroyed, they take the headquarters to find only a
couple remnants of the Kahuna (A couple of his 'wave summonning' gold
medallions, some harpoons, a map of the area with a part marked with 'Mr Yuk'
stickers etc..).
The Kahuna has taken his chosen ones and have found the ruins of the
Arbot chemical plant. They will do a ritual to make their Bloodwaves able to
scour the land and teach even those in the Desert to fear the cry of "HAng
Ten for the Kahuna!". And the party must stop them, but to get there in
time, (remember, their boat has been totaled), the party must use the
medallions and
SURF THE WAVE!!!!
many nimbleness checks, close calls with rocks, rapids, sharks, etc (Be
sure to have a CD of surfer music in the background), the wasters must break
into the chemical plant and fight the Mutant Surf Punks. Keep everyone on
their bloodwaves for extra Surfin fun!
2) Mr Umpty's Burger shack!
It's not the burgers, it's not the statue of Mr Umpty the Burgerchef
extraordinaire, the party scrounges the shack. Finds frozen burgers, and
charred corpses. Then it comes, hot frying demonic goo from the Fry-pans!
The screaming souls of millions of tortured potatoes taking form in a boiling
deep fatty blob of adventurer eating goop. .
3)Sci-Fi o rama!
There are frightened people in the wastes. And the horrors are picking
them off because they seem to refuse to take any measures to stop them. No
anti-zombie flame throwers, no lines of salt to stop undeads, no sunlamps, no
strobes to try to stop blast shadows, But WHY!? Don't they know what's
going on?
When they talk to the last survivor of a Zombie attack, they find that
they are not the first to talk to the survivor. the Descriptions are vague
"Druggies..... in... body armor... who... were taking blood thickeners...
and..." And there are tire tracks from the sites. more pressure makes the
person reveal that agents of the USA spoke to her (USA!? but that's not
around anymore). Soon the party finds they are being stalked.
These are Men in Black, HoE style. HEavily armed federal agents who have
become servants of the Reckoners. They scope out survivors of attacks in
order to convince the survivors that the attacks were something more mundane
so they remain unprepared for the next one. The party must face them, and
their special mind-control powers (Which convice people that Doomsayer Nukes
are nothing more than flash powder and gas mains, or that those Raptors were
just weather baloons).
4) The Flash, The Burn, the Storm, The Fallout
The Harbringer is coming, and four beings will come to test it, as says
the prophesies of Joan. The baby is born, and as always, the Party will have
to protect it. The Flash... is a being of energy and light. He blinds
people, lasers them up, generally nasty. He must be placed in Total absolute
darkness to defeat him.
The Burn, seven feet of silent Radiation suit. He stalks amongst the
wastes, everything he touches burns. His footprints burn with
geiger-clicking horror. Think Juggernaut except who rad-burns all he
touches.
The Storm... A doombringer stands in the storm of Phoenix. THe spirits
of the storm sweep down upon him and they reborn him as The Storm. Think all
the meteorolgical powers of Doomsayers as inborn ablities plus the fact that
a Ghost storm Vortx follows him wherever he goes! So the party must enter a
mobile Ghost storm vortex and face the inclement conditions, meglomaniacal
demonic power at the center and... Well.. As there will be lightning bolts in
the storm (And black rain, radiation, fill it with goodies), the party has to
get The Storm to turn in itself. That involves getting close enough to strap
a GR 'lightning rod' to this bad-boy's back while he flings winds, rain, and
Roentgen lightning about. Have fun... and the results lead to... The
Fallout...
the Fallout, as The Storm dissipates, it seems to disipate into a sort of
green snowfall covers the area. The substance spreads across the west.
Here's the fun, now it's time for the party to take the baby to the purple
doomsayers. But along the way, and it'll be a LOOONG trip, the fallout
begins. Random people will be struck with the urge to hurt the baby. Their
eyes will glow green, and they will, trance-like, go for the baby. The
people are innocent, and the party must handle the people as follows
(Incapacitate, not kill). As the trip continues (Remember, it's hostile
territory, and the poor yahoos have to take care of the baby), more and more
people will zombie-like take after the baby. until the party must somehow
navigate an entire mob to get the baby to Joan, who will annoint the child
and end the menace.
5) A battleship in the Desert
A good place for a fight with some black Hats, I'm tired, must sleep, do
we have a President yet?
