[HOE] The Librarian's Almanac for November 28th
WEST FORK, ARKANSAS- an Indian scout named Luther Many-Strides announces
that a Black Hat caravan has been spotted on the old I-40 roughly three days
from town. While this may be a tribute caravan, Luther cautions that there
are many armed troops on the four heavy transports with two figures that
might be heavy cans. The Law Dogs have called an emergency town meeting with
the West Fork mayor to find a solution.
SANTA FE FORTRESS, NEW MEXICO- two scouts, Farley Bellows and Deirdre
Finnegan, have arrived back home with the story of a very strange discovery
in the Albuquerque ruins. While the ruins have long been a haven for
abomination, muties and creatures, both veteran wasters were shocked to
discover the bodies of over twenty mutants and four Loyalist Doomsayers in
one of the last freestanding skyscrapers in the city limits. All of the
fatalities were from multiple tearing wounds and excessive blood loss.
HOUMA BAYOU, LOUISIANA- several trappers have returned to the boat town with
sightings of a group of four individuals wearing black powered armor. Each
was reported to have a single white oval painted on the right shoulder
plate. The figures did not halt when the trappers revealed themselves, but
continued on at a fast jog until they vanished into the swamps.
GROUSE CREEK, UTAH- couriers from the Convoy have arrived in town bearing a
plea for aid from the nearby town of Jackpot, Nevada. It seems that the
citizens of Jackpot held themselves as neutral in the Doomsayer schism that
is centralized in the former state of Nevada. Doomsayers of either color
were welcome into the enclave provided that all disputes were taken outside.
The town had a brisk trade with its neighbors in food and salvage until
recent events. Doomsayers of either color have begun avoiding the village;
its denizens are succumbing to a strange disease that rots the skin with
accompanying symptoms including extreme fatigue, night sweats, loss of
appetite and eventual heart failure. The disease has been reportedly
transmitted to a few Loyalist Doomsayers in the area; the townies are
looking for some help in curing the ailment before some of Silas' followers
arrive with a bone to pick.
