The first thing I'd tell you is this- Money Can't buy you love. The first
thing I'd suggest is to put them in a straightforward situation where having
alot of Stuff is useless to them. Also, I don't know if you do already, but
in Waste Warriors there are rules for Scavenging TNs in Communities of
varying size.(So if they don't spend a majority of their time in junkyard,
it'll be harder to use this "Stuff" as currency- if they're in a community
that doesn't have a pot to piss in, They'll have a harder time Selling that
paper when what the people really need is Food, or guns for defense or some
such basic necessity.)
The second suggestion is That if they're rolling around with a truck full of
loot, Two other things could happen. Either A.) people could assume that the
heroes are people of Means, and that they're tough enough to have won all
this loot, And That These Heroes Could help us with our Big
Community-Threatening problem.(Basically, people see them, realize that to
get stuff like what they've got, you've got to have True Grit as salvagers
and as guards, and wind up asking them to Stop the Combine from stealing
their harvests every year in "Tribute." If they Say No, Then they're not
heroes- Start turning them into servitors... drop charity cases on them until
they either Be charitable(really, from their hearts) or until they lose
patience and just start Hording.(I'm thinking they'd be favored by Famine for
hording.)
Or B.), they could roll into a community that sides with Karl Marx, and
Decrees that the posse is the proliteriate, and gets really stinkin' mad at
em.
For the Third and final solution, the posse gets around right? Hows about
this- a combine patrol, a more Elite unit(Not like red hats, but definitely
veterans), That does a good job raiding and keeps itself very well supllied
shows up ans starts demanding Tribute from a town that the posse was in,
like, an adventure ago. They hear about this Truck full of food, spook juice,
and general goodies, guarded by only (5, ?) guys. They then decide to do a
Full out ambush. Basically, sick a bunch of well trained Scavenge hungry
balck hats on them- Black hats typically don't have salvageable equipment, so
thei'r good for bleeding a posse off.(certainly you could run combat to suit
your needs.)
