Probably the way would be for the listserv to include (if they don't
already) a blurb in the sign up stating that the list is for private use
only and that companies cannot use the list for market-gains/profit. This
is totally reasonable as, if a company does start using the listserv's
service for profit, the listserv should get a cut or be allowed to
disallow it.
