Re: [HOE] Musaque, and more... (Was: The Great American Mall of...)

One thing that I highly recommend is if you own or can borrow a copy of both
Fallout CRPG's (Fallout 1 is pretty hard to find these days, but Fallout 2
should be findable in most bargain bins), you can convert the music into
.wav files that are easily recordable using a program called "acm2wav". It
is very appropriate background music. Nothing real blaring or fast-paced,
nothing with words, just a good mood-setter. There are pieces that can be
used for settlements, for playing when the posse is cruising along in the
road warrior's car, and lots of ominous pieces for when the posse approaches
something...well, ominous. Several pieces would work good as introductory
scores for the Great American Mall adventure.

Another couple of pieces that work good are mp3's from the game System Shock
2. There's a website where these can be found. Start at www.ttlg.com and
look around the various SS2 webresources until you find them. The tracks I
recommend are "Command 1", "Command 3", "Hydroponics 2", "Operations 1",
"Operations 3", and "Recreation". All of these are exceptional pieces for
horror moodsetting. Hydroponics 2 is a great piece for exploring dark ruins
or tunnels, Recreation has a wonderful "heartbeat" to it, and the others can
be used for a variety of situations.
