Re: [HOE] Hell on Earth d20

Firsthand experience on why the d20 system may be a good thing for a company:

I'm down at my local hobby shop, just looking around to see if anything catches my interest. Nothing jumps out at me, so I head for the door, but the lady who runs the place points at a stack of stuff she just got in sitting on the counter. I look through the stack and find the core book for Fading Suns in the d20 system. Fading Suns has always interested me, and I've been looking for some reading material anyway, so I slap down the money and walk out with a brand new book.

Now to the point: I've gotten through most of the book in the day since I got it, and I find myself wanting the rest of the Fading Suns books. Not the d20 sourcebooks that are forthcoming, but the sourcebooks that are already out. This works out to be a very good thing for Fading Suns' company, don't you think? And if it works that way for Pinnacle, too... then all the better.

More importantly, it's not like game systems are all converting entirely over to d20. All the companies are just using this as an opportunity to make a little extra money by selling books to people who might not otherwise find their games accessible.

Well, that's my opinion. Take it for what it's worth.
