Hmm...no.  There are VAGUE similarities, but not nearly enough to consider
the skills related.  Fighting barehanded is much different and has a much
different mindset than fighting with a knife (fighting WELL with a knife,
anyway), and a sword is significantly different from both of them.  It makes
more sense for them to not be related.
