Well, so long as your character can get some meat in him, he should be 
fine. But in the middle of nowhere... no meat... the manitou won't have 
anything to heal damage with. However, I wouldn't worry about damage to 
your feet unless your Marshall is really trying to be cruel to you.

Harrowed chars might even have an advantage in that terrain. For one thing, 
they don't get winded or tired, and they don't need water, so they could 
keep moving 18-23 hours per day and cover a lot of ground. They'd have to 
shut down 1-6 hours to let the manitou rest, but for the rest of the day 
(and night) they could keep moving and cover so much ground they wouldn't 
be out there for too long before making it back to civilization.

Without water, though, expect to take several levels of Dessicated as a 
hindrance.
