[HOE] My thoughts on Unity..... (spoilers! Seriously.)
Alright, players! Scoot! Skedaddle!
Spoiler dance!
Alright, here's my thoughts.
1) Hellstromme as the Harbinger- To be honest, my only real gripe with the
adventure. It just seemed a little forced.
2) All tha action, I didn't mind. One way to look at it is as a very forced
adventure. Me, I prefer to look at it as a big budget movie in which the
posse has the starring role.
3) Loved the part where the posse is in the worm's stomach.
4) All the griping about there being no reason to trust Hellstromme has two
MAJOR flaws: a) First, the posse sees DEATH, ready to lay the smackdown on
Raven, get sucked up into a box by Hellstromme; and b) Joan, leader of the
Schismatics and one of the most influential forces in the Wasted West, seems
to trust Hellstromme and sees him as the prophesied Messiah of mutie-dom.
Now, while Joan may act kinda flaky, all the sourcebooks I've read portray
her as being a very shrewd individual. I think this might give Mr.
Brain-in-a-jar a smidge more credibility than your average deathbot, but
that's just my goofy logic.
5) Bubbly Fizz. Mmmmmmm...
6) My god! The bridge scene has to be the most climatic scene in any RPG
adventure I've ever read (though I think some of the stuff from TSR's
Planescape comes close).
7) Though I was a little upset over not seeing Stone or the much-rumored 5th
Horseman, overall I'd say this totally kicked ass.
8) It's gonna be a looooong wait for Lost Colony.
