I am unfamiliar with the latest incarnation of the d20 system, so excuse my
basic questions :-)

1. Is the DM's guide not necessary? I got the impression it was one of the
core books
2. Does damage still often consist of xdx? as in 3d6?

cheers for any answers :-)

My group had all of this lying around ;-) Maybe we just have more junk than
most people. hehehe I can imagine it would be difficult to find all of this
stuff in one place, but I would have thought you could buy a poker set that
had a few decks of cards and a set of chips for gambling. That's where I
think we got ours from.

Fun is what it is about though isn't it? Does d20 still have thac0? I
always thought that thac0 was less intuitive than systems where you have a
target number you need to beat. There is always a trade off between speed
and being descriptive which is what I see DL combat being. But that is just
a personal preference. I usually see my combat as a slow motion bullet time
experience rather than a quake deathmatch ;-)
