Yeah, cept the English were colonised by lets see.... the Romans, the 
Saxons, the Vikings and the Normans (French basically). So everyone is just 
all mixed together in a mush :-) In the parts I have read up to the Scots 
don't get overly colonized, and they drive the English off (Braveheart era, 
man that movie is so wrong ;-) ) and stay separate.
