Also depends on which version of Bats your talking about. The later 'comic'
(so to speak) versions are pretty anti-killing, but the original pulp version
(where there was no Robin around and Batman carried a good old 0.45 semi-auto
on his nightly excursions) may very well have killed the badguys. That was
generally the way in hte pulp era (being largely before super-villains came
into common use).
I've only seen a bit of the pulp Batman, though, so I can't say for sure.
