Uh... I don't think Gygax was in the movie.  Dave Arneson put in a cameo as
one of the wizards in the wizards council, but that ended up being one of
the deleted scenes (thankfully, for Dave's sake).

See, that's what I mean - they put out a lame D&D movie, but no Deadlands
movie?  Stupid pop-culture-icon-of-gaming D&D... :-)
