[HOE] Fate chips?! Only wussies use fate chips!

I had an interesting idea pop up at the last gaming session. My players rallied behind a group pot. Something they can put their chips in and anyone can draw from to use, this way they don't have to worry about the two for one conversion on giving chips. They basic layout of it is like a chairty pot, they get their chips and they keep some and toss some into the pot on their whim.
I allowed them to do this with a few minor tweaks to it. I told them that at the end of the adventure, any chips in the group pot disappear, they cannot be traded in for bounty. I also said that if you drew one you had to use it then and that you could not use the chips in the group pot for character specific abilities, such as martyr blessings and anything else that lets you spend a fate chip for an effect that is character specific. They also had to donate at least one chip to the pot to be able to draw from the pot.
I'd be interested in hearing what everyone thinks about this. Your opinions, good and bad are wanted. So cough 'em up!

"How many zombies are there?"
"There are twenty zombies"
"I send my squire in for some advanced practice"
"Does he even have a weapon?"
"A golf club"
"The zombies eat his brains"
"Aren't you going to roll or something?"
"No"
"Crap, I lose more squires that way"
