I agree completely with you that Deadlands is the game of choice to bring new people to the table. I find it is also a great way to bring veteran D20 players to the table also. My group now consists of one hardcore D20 fan, two veteran D20 players and a newbie. After two game sessions of Deadlands: Hell on Earth they were hooked. Now they will only play other games if I'm not around to run a Deadlands game for them. Why? Because Deadlands is the gaming industries answer to heroin. Killing muties and putting down servitors just feels like a warm blanket to me.
