Re: [HOE] Misc. Saints for All Occasions
*snip* I should have a decent Saint of Pilots to work on *snip*
Although I'm not intimately familiar with pilots, a couple of suggestions
would be Eddie Richenbacher or the Red Baron. Or alternatively, if you
happen to be Australian, Charles Kingsford-Smith.
*snip* As for thinking about the

Yeah, I made Sitgreaves. Republished below for your perusal.
R Percy Sitgreaves, Patron Saint of Junkers
R Percy Sitgreaves was the first Junker, though not in their current form.
He was the one who
created the theories and principles by which Junkers base their own form of
magic on in his own
Thaumaturgic Diffusion; building devices by the use of forcing the Manitous
of the Hunting
Grounds to aid in the construction process.
Sitgreaves created these theories of Thaumaturgic Diffusion when he
discovered that Mad
Scientists unknowingly consorted with Manitous to build their wondrous
devices. A good man,
Sitgreaves was horrified. He theorised that Mad Science essentially was a
tool of the Reckoners
to bring humanity to some infernal end the Reckoners had in plan (with the
development of the
City Busters he was proved right) and so he developed Thaumaturgic Diffusion
to force the
Manitous to aid him in the building of any device.
His fight against the evil inherent in Mad Science was a lone one in his
lifetime but after him
there were others who saw the evils of Mad Science and now in the Wasted
West there are the
Junkers who use inhabitants of the Hunting Grounds called Tech Spirits to
aid them in the
development of strange devices. It is a practice similar to shamanism and
one that Sitgreaves
also developed
Later in his life he had discovered the fledgling Tech Spirits and began
using techniques similar
to those used by Shamans to acquire the aid of them. However Tech Spirits
proved more willing
to serve humanity than the Nature Spirits and Sitgreaves thought he had
found the replacement
to Mad Science.
Sadly however soon after he made this discovery he disappeared, after being
stalked for many
months by a beast known only as "The Gorgon" and his final fate is unknown.
The Deed:
Similarly to Saint Rising, Saint Sitgreaves has only appeared to a Companion
but differently, one
who was a Junker. He blesses Junker Companions who build devices designed to
help
settlements deemed worthy of aid by the beliefs of the Templars. To those
blessed by him he
emulate the effect of Tech Spirits called "Browsers" that the Junker
Companion mightn't have.
R Percy Sitgreaves, Patron Saint of Junkers
Sitgreaves did more for the way of the Junker than any other person and
almost 200 years
before Junkers even existed. Although he was not remembered after his
disappearance by the
people of his time he is one of the greatest unsung heroes for what he did
in the Hunting
Grounds in the 19th Century and how it has helped the folk of the Wasted
West.
Deed: Sitgreaves appears to Junker Companions who build a device designed
for the sole
purpose of aiding a settlement. It has to be a settlement deemed worthy by
the Junker and the
device has to aid the entire settlement so a new rifle for a militia member
won't cut it. A power
generator or a machine that makes medicines will earn Sitgreaves attention
however.
Sitgreaves abilities work differently to other Martyrs in that he can mimc
the abilities of a
browser. If your Junker has Sitgreaves as a Saint then he can spend chips on
a Browser he
doesn't have. However he can only use each Browser he doesn't have once a
day. Consider this
ability to be using level 5 Browsers.
Vexation: Sitgreaves was appalled by the use of New Science as a means of
building weapons
of mass destruction and is similarly appalled by Junkers who use Junker
Magic for the same
purpose. If your Junker builds a weapon designed to kill several people
simultaneously then he
is immediately forsaken. What exactly falls under the category
"weapon designed to kill several people" is up to the Marshal but in general
things like Machine
Guns and Bombs and Missiles is what we mean.
