I don't have my books on me so I'm answering from memory but I believe how 
Seize the Pearl works is that once activated by a vamoose card it remains 
active until the martial artist's next card.  That means that a martial 
artist can attempt to catch every bullet shot at him during this time, 
including automatic fire.  I might be wrong though, like I said this is from 
memory.
