Re: [HOE] advice needed for dealing with insane draws
Ah, yes. My favorite Phenotype... Of course, mine is more along the lines
as a regression. Just think of "Cat" from Red Dwarf.
but I digress...
Well I have seen, and done, insane draws as well. Might want to lean her to
some of the hindrances that actually lower a stat. Maybe she's a cat..er
cougar woman who actually has an allergy (Ailin' 3 Chronic) to her own fur.
Real cats have that allergy as well. Also, remember if she continues this
phenotype, it starts to hamper. Her Deftness starts to suffer negative
penalties.
As for the syker, they all seem to have something that is a vice. Cigs,
Liquor, skirts, or something that may keep him busy. Also, might want to
curb the "Vet o Wasted" edge. After all, you can have huge stats but then
not have enough points to cause much of a use.
I hate to take stats away from someone. If you know they aren't going out
of their reach to make a uber-char (my German is literally non-existant),
you shouldn't penalize them. The thing with my "Cat" is that he has decent
stats but I never play him for the stats. He could probably do a huge job
taking care of business, but I rather have fun with him. Can't wait to see
the look on the GM's face when he sees "Cat's" version taking a bath. Also,
posse's are really powerful depending on what's in it. So, tweaking the
stats may or may not do anything if someone else actually picks up the
slack. I think your best idea is to come up with a compromise where they a
few minor advantages (one's that really don't over help a char: ex Purty,
The Voice, etc) and take some hindrances that will actually help the RP. A
Syker with a bad hankerin' for a substance would really be pathetic even
though he has a lot of powers. Maybe even make him a specialist in a syker
field so that he won't be a Syko with a few Pyro's put in.
Just an opinion
