He's mentioned as carrying Dragoons and Armies in various places. A reason
given that the "future" Stone doesn't carry a whix-bang future weapon is
that he can easily replace an 1800's era Colt. So I'm took that to mean
that his guns aren't relics, or even particularly well-made. He's totally
pragmatic about his weapons. A pair of pistols that reloads are easy to get
is sufficient. He might lean towards pistols he can fan, because he
probably will hit with all shots he wishes to fan. If you run into Stone
in the 20th or 21st centuries, he might be carrying semi-auto pistols or
assault rifles, because he can get reloads for them easy.

When my posse met Stone, they just about messed their pants. They did
atleast try to determine how much shooting they needed to do while running
away to make it seem at least a little dangerous to follow them. Stone
wasn't intent on killing them at the time, but one player who is not
familiar with the setting didn't know exactly how bad Stone is. He tried to
draw down on Stone -- I fanned five bullets into him. I didn't miss with
the sixth, I was saving it for later. Took every chip he had and left him
with 3 wounds. The second time they met Stone the posse used
explosives/rockets. They got lucky with their cards, and blew up Stone. He
wasn't nearly dead, but I wasn't sure how often they could do that, So Stone
retreated. But imagine having a scorched and next to nekkid-due-to-fire
Stone surviving for later... The possee was only slightly better off,
having caught themselves in the blast some too. That was in 1877. The
posse is in HOE time now, and Stone's got more firepower and a two century
old grudge.
