RE: [HOE] Makin' Bullets

Quoting RedFox Whiteruff <redfox@crimsonvulpine.com>:

*_* Well let's look at hard numbers for making say 50 bullets, here...
*_*
*_* Ignoring the initial $100 for the bullet press, you've got:
*_* 1 lb. of lead - $5 (note that the book doesn't say how much lead is consumed
*_* to make a batch of casings)
*_* 50 percussion caps - $100
*_* 50 units smokeless powder - $50
*_*
*_* That will net you 50 pistol rounds. That is a total of $150 + an unknown
*_* amount for lead ($0 if you're saving your casings with a $10 brass catcher).

Just a minor comment here. Lead isn't normally used to make casings, as far as I know. Casings are
generally brass or steel, hence the name 'brass catcher.' Lead used to be used to make the
projectile part itself, though I think copper or other metals are used more often now (due to the
potential for lead poisoning in the target).

I think making bullets is probably only feasable in the game for really rare ammunition types (ones
you won't often find) or if you don't happen to be close enough to Junkyard or other trade areas to
just trade for them.
