Hello,

I've been informed that the date of April 10, 2010 have been reserved by
another group. I'm in the process of looking at two other possible
Saturdays. I was told two weeks ago that these dates (including April 10th)
where available. I'll let everyone know what I find out ASAP.

The other dates being requested are (in order of preference):

Saturday May 1, 2010 (one day after our pack camp out).

Saturday May 8, 2010 (one day before Mother's day)

Obviously, neither of these dates are ideal. Sorry for the mix-up. This is
a popular trip that requires planning in excess of 6 months.

Regards,

Jack Prisciandaro

Folks,

I'm and coordinating an overnight outing on the USS Torsk submarine.
Currently, this World War II vintage sub is dock in Baltimore's inner Harbor
(just across from the aquarium).

Some details of this trip are as follows:

Date: Saturday April 10, 2010 to Sunday April 11, 2010

Cost: $50/person (adult or scout)

Transportation to and from Baltimore will NOT be provided (but car pooling
is encourage).

Space is limited to a total of 30 people maximum.

A few web sites with a bit more info:

http://usstorsk.org/

http://www.historicships.org

Den leaders,

I need a list of committed parents and scouts.

Den 5 Parents,

Please email questions/request directly to me.

If anyone interested in securing a spot for this outing, I'll need

    - a check (made payable to Pack 159) for 50% of the total amount

   - name, phone number and email of responsible adult

   - name, den number, den leader and den leader's email address

Initially, I'd like to limit this outing to scout and parents.

Siblings and friends may join us If space is still available one month prior
to the trip.

Answers, to some common questions are provided below. More details will be
provided as I receive them.

1) What is the minimum/maximum number of boys and adults you can
accommodate in a single evening?

The TORSK can take a total of 30 participants. You will need a minimum of 20
total participants to reserve the boat.

2) Are these programs offered ever Saturday night or just a select few
per month?

Our programs are offered any day of the year, but Fridays and Saturdays are
the more popular choices

3) What's the cost per person?

The cost is $50 per person (with a 20 person group minimum, the basic
program cost is $1000).

4) How many adults do we need to attend? (one adult for each boy, for
each two boys?).

For cub scouts we require 1 parents per 5 scouts

5) What are the sleeping arrangements?

Overnight participants sleep in the racks in the After Battery compartment.

If there are Moms or daughters in your group that require separation, they
may be berthed in the Forward Battery in the officer's berthing compartments

6) Is there a minimum age requirement? Our boys range from 1st to 5th
grade.

Participants have to be 1st grade or older

7) Is it fair to assume you can accommodate boys, girls, men and women?

We can accommodate all genders and ages, but I want to tell you that most
women do not like the submarine. It is a World War II boat with World War II
heads (or bathrooms). The toilet is normal, but it is a very very small
stall. All the Moms who have done the program with us have said something
along the lines of: "I'm glad I did it, but I'll never do it again." So it's
up to you and your Moms

Yours in Scouting,

Jack Prisciandaro
