[pbmserv-dev] Boku clone, a new game for PBeM.

Hello,
I have done it again...
After Xeniz the clone of Zenix. (I am sorry to have announce this to user
list)
I have HexaFive the clone of Boku.

I had already positive and negative feedback on publishing commercial game
for Richard's PBeM server.
Please keep sending your position/flame (to me not to the list).
If you did it too, if you had trouble with an author/company.
If you are an author and don't like this behaviour of mine...
If you change the name from Risk to risque or such, please speakup. ;-)

[It should be available from http://glu.freeservers.com/boku.htm
and http://www.geocities.com/dglaude/boku.htm
You should be able to download a ZIP or TGZ depending if you
go at Freeserver or Geocities/Yahoo]

However I did not seek the owner/copyright holder authorisation for creating
my "clone".
I choosed the following legal(?) trick:
 1) I changed the name of the game from Zenix to Xeniz (so that trademark
should be OK).
 2) I did write the explanation of the rules myself (so that copyright on
rules is respected).
 3) I don't believe there is a patent on the game or move "logic" (because
it almost copy Pente).

However, by default this time my "clone" is a bit different from the
original.
I put no limitation on the number of piece each player is having
and I make the board a perfect Hexagon.
But there is an option -special=1 to play the original.

Anybody who did try Pente or Renju should like it.
I would be more than happy to see it running on Richard's server (or any
other).

Inside the ZIP/TGZ archive you will find a few test game in Perl.
You will also find documentation/help on how to play, the typical COPYING
file from GPL, ...
And of course my web page on Boku.

Have fun and please contact me if you consider running the code on your
server.

David GLAUDE

PS: Richard, could you contact me, please?
PPS: An earlyer version of this code was tested live on Douglas Zander's
server.
PPPS: I am suppose to be Boku World champion (at MSO 5 in London).
