Re: [pbmserv-dev] about matches for games
My thoughts behind match play are...
augment the existing challenge command to include a
-match=XX
construct, and if present, the BOARD structure will change from
nnnn
to
nnnn-1
and a new construct will be added to the basic setup (default value 1)
that is the number of points that this match is being play to.
Then the IsGameOver code will need revamping to include not only
who won (if anyone), but also... how many points the victory was
worth.
that many points will be added to the current points for the victorious
player.
if it is less than the number of points in the match, the system
will clean up the old game, and then start BOARD
nnnn-2
if it meets or exceeds the points of the game, game is finally over,
and ratings, etc. change
But, of course, I was on vacation last week, and didn't get much time
to play with pbmserv (as I was hoping to). Seems my wife thinks when
I'm on vacation, I'm not supposed to be "working"... go figure...
