Sure.  Go ahead.  But perhaps make '-short' a parameter too. 

My only concern is... if people have an existing game going... don't make
that enforce the default behaviour.  I want -long moves allowed (since some
people are using it without knowing it) for existing boards.

GO ahead with this to.  -push is an option.  not the default.  The issue
might be ratings related.... do "-push" boards count towards your
Abalone rating?  can we make them separately rated?
