[pbmserv-dev] Sim Hex?
A thread in rec.games.abstract caught my eye the other day...
Rock, Paper, Hex
Basically, Hex without the 1st player advantage.
Board starts empty (obviously)
Both players propose a move.
if both spaces are different, the players each get the appropriate space.
if both propose the same space,
that space is flagged (unplayable) until pieces are placed
and they each proposed another space
lather, rinse, repeat
I can envision getting to the point of all spaces being unplayable.
Then you'd clear all the flags, and start over for that turn
An idea I proposed was... you propose a move *and* a "bid".
if both spaces are the same, the bids are added together.
if the total is ODD, player 1 gets the space
if the total is EVEN, player 2 gets the space
however, you want to give the other player a space, too. So they
get a free move (offsets the "advantage" of getting the space you
both wanted, perhaps)
Anyone want to take this one?
