I noticed we are starting at night, with the werewolves picking someone to
kill.

This means one of the players will die before he gets to participate.

Would it make more sense to start in the daytime, with some non-player
John Doe having been killed the night before?  That way, every player gets
to participate in at least one day-time vote.

Or does that create imbalance in ways I'm not thinking of?
