Re: Fwd: [pbmserv-dev] Toot and Otto

BGG is back up.

This is based on what I see at BGG, so a little is conjecture:

1) The board is 6 wide and 4 tall (smaller than Connect 4).
2) Each player gets 6 T's and 6 O's.
3) On your turn you pick a T or an O and drop it in a column. It falls to the lowest unoccupied space (just like Connect 4).
4) First player to spell his name (TOOT or OTTO) wins.
5) If you spell the other player's name without spelling your own, you lose.
6) If you spell both names at once, you win, eg, with this board, whoever drops an O into the empty space wins:
      O T T _ O T

There's an alternate rule set for "younger players". I think we can ignore that.

Implementation on gamerz.net:

The board size of the published edition looks like the smallest practical size. We could make that variable. Giving each player an equal number of O's and T's appears to be a physical limitation, unnecessary in a computer implementation. The move notation looks pretty obvious; the move above would be O4.
