Re: [pbmserv] What is the name of the game?

I believe that this is what's known in English as "Fox
and Geese". Here are some links:

http://www.tradgames.org.uk/games/Tafl.htm
http://www.mastersgames.com/rules/fox-geese-rules.htm

and in case you're a mathematician specializing in
combinatorial games theory...

http://cgsuite.sourceforge.net/fox-and-geese/

Hope this helps,

Lyman

PS For a display I would suggest using '.' instead of
'O' for empty squares as it appears confusing (to me)
to use letters for both.
