Re: [pbmserv] What is a Win in Robots?
I looked at the Robots standings, and I notice there are wins and
losses. I got munched in my first game with 99 points. For some reason
this is a win. Why is it a win?
A win in Robots is when you improve on your previous high score, a tie is
when you equal it, and a loss is when you fail to reach your previous high
score.
These tallies are irrelevant to your standing, and not even that useful as
statistics, but are included in case someone finds them interesting.

BTW, for those players who have not read the help file recently, the
scoring was finalised last week as follows:
Score = (Number of kills) - (Number of turns)
This is a gentle way of rewarding multiple moves per turn that cannot be
excessively exploited by a robot Robots player.
Refraining from using your blaster on a level does not give bonus points,
however it does give a bonus safe teleport for the next level.
