I saw that also!!  It's called "Leash On Life" . The website for it and the

They also work with farm animals, too, and some show them through 4-H. Sounds

   They say they try to pair the boys with rescue dogs whose lives closely
mirror what the boy has been through! Fascinating!! 
   Here in Washington state about 40 minutes from me we have a womens'
correctional facility & they have the female prisoners raise and train dogs to
help the disabled as service dogs. It has been very successful, for everyone
involved! Excellent program!
   Check out the websites!! I saw it a number of times on NBC news programs,
including Nightside and others, but was unable to find anything about NBC news
segment on internet. Did find these 2 websites, though!
