4 of my adults eat 4 cups a day each, I split it up into 2 meals. I feed my Rescue Pyr 6 cups 
a day because she was terribly underweight when I got her and she still needs to gain 
another 10-15 lbs. She was a big dog in an 80 lb frame when I got her, she's gained 10 lbs 
and *still looks much too thin. 100-105 lbs ought to be her right weight.
And dogs really *won't starve themselves. They can go several wks if need be without food 
as long as they have fresh water. Trust me-she's not a fool, she'll eat <G>.
