RE: [PyrNet-L] Adding to my life
Hi Tom!
I could just hear pyr tails whirling up and wagging everywhere as you
described your potential home!!
Sounds like you've put some good thought into this, and have alot to
offer. (I'm jealous you get to bring your dog to work!)
Oh the attention you'll draw with a big white fluffy lover dog next to
you!! (labs and retrievers are great companions, but I think a pyr makes
a bigger statement)
As far as puppy vs. rescue........I would have the same dilemma as you.
I now have a 6 month old pyr, and there were many times I wondered why
on this earth I agreed to get a puppy, (loss of sleep/TV time/errand
running.....I gave constant and undivided attention to the puppy) and
realized a rescue dog probably would have fit my busy lifestyle better.
But, now at the 6 month stage, things are calming down, and I have a
really well behaved, very cool dog. Though a definate **PHEW!!!** is
in order, now that things have settled down.
Gosh, I can answer any questions you might have about raising a puppy,
having recently gone through the worst of it! But only you can decide if
you want a puppy or a rescue. There are many rescues just begging for
someone to take them home and love them. I think adult dogs are very
thankful to their rescue people and bond extremely well, I wouldn't
worry about the history.
Welcome to the pyr-list, and good luck with your decision.
