Along these lines, I have a friend that continues to fight this kind of
reaction with her Husky. The dog reacts to any high pitched noise.
Microwave beeper, dryer alarm, TV, smoke detector etc. etc.
The dog is 4 years old and has never shaken this nervous reaction. She
recommends being firm with the dog at the time of reaction so as to not
re-enforce the dog's feelings, but to make the dog feel that all this is
simply nonchalant and every day activity.
Sidenote: She has seen quite a few behavior specialists. That might be
something to consider also.
