Leo is wanting to go to work as a guard dog.  This is good--but will be hard
for you.  You may need to work out some new crate rules--like he can stay
out of the crate more.  Our dogs have open crates 24 hours a day and they
sleep in them quite often of their own choice.

We throw dog cookies into the crate at times (without shutting the door) so
the crate is a good place.  You may have to spend a night or two while you
establish that his fussing in the crate does not mean he can get out.
