Have you tried feeding them free-choice?  I found that feeding
free-choice - dry food only, available 24 hours a day - most dogs (not
all!) will eat smaller amounts of food but on a more frequent basis. 
Since most dogs don't suffer from eating disorders, they usually eat
exactly what they need and no more.  It depends on your dogs, though.  If
they don't mind sharing a food bowl, it might be worth giving it a try. 
If they do, don't set yourself up for more aggravation!  Good luck
