[PyrNet-L] cleaning those "treasures"

Funny you should ask that Tracy. I found the Sandicast Pyr the hardest to
clean even with warm soapy water and toothbrush. He looked more like a Newf!
I added a capful of bleach to the water and immersed him except for the
head. Didn't want to lose the pigment there!! Don't feel he's as clean as
the others and I think it's what the statue is made from (roughcast) that's
causing the problem. Maybe repainting carefully would work. I shall speak
to my small Chow decorator and ask her advice, ( another wee job for her?).
Maybe someone else out there knows what to use?

By the way I had something in my cabinet that would interest you. A bottle
of Champagne painted silver with the head of Eng/Aust Ch Briarghyll
Kelso(UK) hand painted on by the artist Sheila Thomson. 10 of these bottles
were painted by Sheila (all different heads) in 1984 for the PMDC Vic's 10th
Ch Show. I was allowed to pick which one I wanted and I chose Kelso. I had a
granddaughter of his at the time. Sheila had owned the Renean Pyrs in the
UK so the bottles were works of art!! I was going to open it if one of the
Pyrs' went BIS but when the day arrived I couldn't do it so the bottle
remains unopened.(Yes Ronda, I know a rare occurence here! At least I
haven't dropped my Sandicast Pyr!) .
Kelso was owned by the Van Ecks.
