[PyrNet-L] country outing update

Able to sit up a bit better now, how do you use a keyboard lying down?? Yes
we had a fun day and looking forward to seeing our photos in the "local
rag". Now I wish I'd not had "Motorbike Elmo" teeshirt on and combed my
hair first!! Meant to say Cindy that a Ribbon Parade here is like the first
stage, then Open Shows (no CC's on offer but Champions can be shown even
though most folk tend to bring out the younger stock) and then the Ch Shows
were CC's can be gained. Both Open and Ch are pre-entered but Ribbon Parades
are entered on the day. Match days here are different in that there must be
more than one Breed involved and the Judge need not be on the NZKC Judging
Panel, again entry on the day. The Ribbon Parades and Matchdays are good
fun and good training for the younger stock but we find here if the Pyrs
hold a Match with another Breed then we do bring out the Champs to help
make up the numbers and quite often they are beaten by the Non Champs!!
Ribbon Parades can be Specialist, Group (for us Utility) and Allbreeds which
is what we had on Sunday. Here we have the "aspiring Judges" and it's a good
learning curve for both. The majority of Clubs do advertise these events in
advance except for our local outfit here. That's where the "bush telegraph"
comes in handy!! I have to say I was surprised considering the heat to see
a pair of gumboot clad feet but this is the "Wairarapa" after all!! We had a
lovely afternoon tea in my friend's bus she has for travelling to Shows and
a good gossip too of days gone by and how things have changed in the dog
world for better or for worse.
