4th PROGRESS REPORT "2000 WORLD CONFERENCE"

The following letter has been circulated by email to Pyrlovers who are
listed on our permanent Conference Mailing-list:

SUBJECT : PREAMBLE 2000 WORLD CONFERENCE ?
Dear PYR-LOVER,

As we realize that not everybody is able to attend the World Conference, we
would like you to know that provision has been made for those unable to
attend.

Things you could do to support your breed !!

1. Make apology for not being able to attend.
2. All correspondence relating to the items on conference Agenda (closing
date : 1st July 00) will be received and recorded by those attending the
conference.
3. Proxy nominations will be accepted ( two persons per Country) for the
formation of World Conference Committee. Preference for this Committee will
be given to those with access to Internet.

An audio Video of the two days Conference will be made available for those
who are interested. So your name/or Kennel name will be on the audio Video.

Looking forward to your reply,
The President & Committee of the PMDC of Vic.Inc. ( Host of the second WORLD
CONFERENCE)

Hello: First, thank you for the e-mails concerning this most worthy event!
We are certain it will be a major success, and with our most sincere regrets
will not be able to attend the Conference. Regarding the agenda, it is a
very complete and comprehensive agenda. I would anticipate that Agenda Item
# 6, Nutrition and Health Care, would and should be a major focus of all
responsible and ethical breeders. Dr. Brown and Ms. Johnson will do a most
outstanding and very valuable presentation of health and nutritional
matters. I do hope that whomever is selected as the speaker/discussant of
Agenda Item

# 9, Code Of Ethics, presently without a listed speaker, will stress and
emphasis the absolute necessity of breeding healthy, structurally and
mentally sound Great Pyrenees. In brief, a Code Of Ethics must (!) support
breeding only healthy dogs free of major defects that are present in the
breed, including but not to limited to Hip Dysplasia and Patella Luxation.
Further, I personally do not believe known Dwarf producers nor carriers
should be used in any breeding program, and to do so must be contrary to a
Code Of Ethics. Again, thank you for the e-mails highlighting the 2000 World
Conference, and, the opportunity to comment on the proposed agenda.
Cordially,
Steve Berman,

Dear Eddy: There are two names we wish to submit by Proxy Nomination to
serve as members of the World Conference Committee, as stated in the
Preamble e-Mail of March 21, 2000, Section 3. The first person we nominate
by Proxy is Dr. Robert M. Brown, Wisconsin, USA. Dr. Brown is a well known
and highly regarded Great Pyrenees Judge, Exhibitor , Breeder and
Veterinarian. Dr. Brown has an extensive resume of committee work and
service both to Great Pyrenees and to dogs in general. This Proxy
Nomination for Dr.Brown is submitted by Stephen Berman, USA, Mary Berman,
USA, and, Mr. C. Seaver Smith, USA. The second Proxy Nomination we submit
is that of Mr. C.Seaver Smith, Massachusettes, USA. Mr. Smith is America's
premier breeder-judge, and together with his wife Edith owned Quibbletown
Great Pyrenees. Quibbletown Great Pyrenees was America's dominant show and
breeding kennel for several decades, setting a number of prestigious breed
records. Mr. Smith has been involved with Great Pyrenees since the late
1940s. This Proxy Nomination for Mr. Smith is submitted by Stephen Berman,
USA, and, Mary Berman, USA. Best Regards,
Steve Berman
