Many years ago we had a dwarf rabbit that had developed hair balls. The vet recommended feeding pineapple juice and plain yoghourt. This seemed to work, and the rabbit survived (unfortunately, David lost his job because he took off to take care of the rabbit, and his boss didn't appreciate the severity of the situation.
