We have found ceramic floors to be very durable in a dog household. I find 
that Pico really enjoys laying on the cool floors in the summer. The only 
downside is there is no rescue if you drop a glass of bottle of your favorite 
vino <sigh>. I haven't found much of a problem with the non-non-stick 
flooring (does that make sense?). The pads on the paws seem to offer good 
traction as long as they are not wet. In that case, we lay down small area 
rugs.
