Re: Re(2): [pyrnet] ANOTHER Pyr jumping fence

Casper is only alone 4-8 hours on any given day and sometimes those hours are
not consecutive. I try to jog/walk with him whenever possible and we do
obedience training. Nothing hard core, but our vet reommended it to give him
self esteem and piece of mind. We have two children and another dog so there
is alot of activity.

He just seems to miss us, because when he jumps the fence he does roam, but
returns and waits for me by the garage.

I am going to explore the electric fence and 8 foot chain link option. He is
a great dog but he does get irrationally distressed when we leave and I
can;t let him wait for me by the front door. The animal warden would not
find it acceptable.

I have considered doggie day care, but the closes one is 30 minutes away and
VERY expensive. I am sure he would enjoy that.

He is great out of the crate. As a matter of fact we never use it. Once he
was housebroken we left it up and he goes in and out, but we never confine
him to it. i only did it yesterday and today to keep him safe until i figure
out the fence issue, but he broke out both days and now the crate is trashed!

Thanks for your concern and questions. We will keep on plugging along.
