[pyrnet] CHAT, RESCUE: Pyr found in NY State

I received an email and phone call today from someone who has found a
neutered Great Pyrenees (and an intact Male Rottie) in the Springfield
Center, NY area (about one hour outside of Albany). This is some of the
info on the dog. We're going to take him into our rescue program, but we'd
still like to find the owner if at all possible.

" I took them to the vet on Fri morning and she examined them. The big
white, she thought, was a Great Pyr. He is approx 2 years old, neutered. He
is starved - weight 74 pounds. She clipped and shaved his rear end a
little - he was very upset by this, as the entire area was a filthy massive
clump of dried manure and mats. She didn't think he could go to the
bathroom very well, and was very concerned about this, b/c he could become
toxic. We took pictures to establish his initial condition in the event an
owner was ever identified - proof of incredible neglect, and hopefully the
person could not get the dog back. The vet said the only other possiblity
was that he had been lost for a LONG time, thus the weight loss. He had a
collar, but no tags. He was also terribly dehydrated. >>
